Landia Chopper Pumps

Landia has produced chopper pumps for more than 50 years. Their product range includes submersible pumps, dry-installed pumps and long-shaft pumps - all available in cast iron or solid stainless steel. Landia pumps are characterized by their unique chopping system which prevents blocking and at the same time comminutes dry matter particles according to the process requirements, unlike Vaughan Chopper Pumps and other chopper pump manufacturers.

Landia chopper pumps handle tasks at treatment plants where traditional pumps often became blocked, e.g. in septic sludge and in connection with recirculation of sludge in digesters.

The Unique Concept
Unlike Vaughan and other chopper pump brands, in Landia chopper pumps, the chopping system is a separate unit, clearly separated from the pump casing and the impeller. Thus, users avoid blocking of the pump and the subsequent piping and wear and damage of the pump casing and the impeller in connection with the chopping.

Landia Flowmaker POP-I 180
Unique on the World Market:
Landia's Flowmaker POP-I 180

Landia’s flowmakers, with only 180 revolutions per minute, are unique on the world market. The low speed gives a much wider range for alternative solutions that would not otherwise be possible. The flowmaker is very suitable in rectangular tanks for anaerobic and anoxic processes, where dry matter content is below 2%.

Operation is often continuous, which requires high efficiency and thereby a low energy consumption. This is achieved through a low speed. The low speed minimizes turbulence on the surface, whereby oxidation is avoided in the anoxic phase. Low propeller revolutions grant soft effluent treatment in activated sludge processes. Flocculation is promoted with the gentle mixing and disturbance of the biological balance is avoided. Other applications for the flowmaker 180 are oxidation ditches and circular tanks, especially with low liquid depths, or tanks where hydraulic conditions are not favorable to the creation of a horizontal flow.

Chopper pump with venturi system

Landia ®BioChop Hygienisation Unit Landia have developed and patented a new hygienisation unit for treatment of category 3 by-products and waste. The process is based on applicable EU regulation. The unique design of the hygienisation unit makes it possible to chop solid parts reducing their size, to mix, to heat-treat and to empty the tank by using the same Landia chopper pump. The Landia ®BioChop hygienisation unit includes process control, monitoring and data recording of the hygienisation process.
